I wasn’t a clubby person. I haven’t been a big clubby person my whole life, you know, even at a very young age, which I think has helped me throughout my career. I’ve nothing against going out and having a good time, but I think, for me it was all about Manchester United… and, of course, The Stone Roses.
Apart from the music, all I was interested in was playing for Manchester United. It was all I wanted in my life.

The Gun Pub, London Docklands, E14 9NS
With a desire to find something different for lunch Adam and I left the office and walked to Docklands eastern shore and The Gun Pub. Combining the best of British pubs atmosphere with olde world and new the Gun provides an excellent setting and a reminder that not every restaurant needs to drug you with MSG to guarantee a return visit.Move from the toasty open wood fire in the warm wooded bars out to the terrace and enjoy a spectacular river vista and a full view of the O2. Watch Gondolas bobbing in the background as London’s travellers opt to hoist their Oysters for a discount on the Emirates Airline.
If it’s too far for you to walk and you don’t fancy driving then The Gun will pick you up and drop you off too. How many restaurants do you know will do that for you?
