‘Saturday’

A special treat at Mudchute Farm.

My friend Christy works at the farm & we arranged to meet for a quick lunchtime mocha and, on arrival the gorgeous girl gave me a very special photo card of The Farm Sheep. I was truly touched. A special photo with a special message for me.

I absolutely ♥ & adore Christy.

You probably realise I ♥ Sheep. A lot. She knows!

The Farm was so busy. It was the weekend, and the nice spring weather had brought out hoards of parents visiting with their children, experiencing the countryside in the heart of East London with the gaze of the skyscrapers at Canary Wharf in the not too far away distance.

I was heading off for a newspaper and groceries & Christy accompanied me to the Upper Paddock where the sheep were grazing. Except there were no sheep visible. I turned to Christy, and before I could ask where they were, Christy said, ‘my treat’ and turned towards the hill & called out.

Within seconds, the sheep were bounding over the hill from the other side, toward her.

And me.

In my typical British lilt, i said, ‘blimey!’ and as the word was said, they were all around me, being typically British & queuing very nicely at the gate. I couldn’t hide my emotion so I covered up my crying eyes with my trusty Oakleys. It’s been an emotional week.

This was such a treat. The perfect positive experience to end a very negative week of tests, test results, scans, treatments, and surgical procedures as well as learning to cope with one hand & lower arm hurting but healing in a plaster cast. My smile was huge and I get all watery eyed just thinking of that moment, surrounded by all the sheep.

You can see that the event attracted a crowd of parents and their children, and Christy was the consummate professional and answered questions & encouraged interaction with the sheep. Even explaining what they were waiting for and what their feed was while all the time, keeping her eyes on what the sheep were doing.

Here’s a link to the Mudchute Park & Farm’s website and I encourage you to come and visit.

Thank you so much, Christy.

Big ♥ from St.
