The aim of life is to live,
and to live means to be aware,
joyously, drunkenly, serenely,
divinely aware.

To be beautiful
means to be yourself.
You don’t need to be accepted
by others. You need to
accept yourself.

I just feel if I’m going to be alive, I want to be challenged—to be as immortal as possible. The path to that isn’t an easy way, but it’s a rewarding way.

Before I die, I want to be somebody’s favorite hiding place, the place they can put everything they know they need to survive, every secret, every solitude, every nervous prayer, and be absolutely certain I will keep it safe. I will keep it safe.

You may not control
all the events that
happen to you,
but you can decide
not to be reduced by them.

In this age, which believes that there is a short cut to everything, the greatest lesson to be learned is that the most difficult way is, in the long run, the easiest.
